CNC Specialist

CNC Machine OperatorPrimary Role- Setup and Operate CNC machines by following the appropriate schedules for either Lathe or Milling cells.Secondary Role – Create or edit programs which are efficient for CNC machines to provide optimum utilization of each machines capabilities and tooling arrangements while being able to minimize setup times.Primary Responsibilities:Setting up and running Lathes or Mills as needed or directed by the supervisor.Create efficient programs maximizing machine utilization and product quality to ensure customer expectations are met.Complete and maintain CNC program documentation.Start 30mins early each day to ensure machines are warmed up and Coolants/Oils have been topped up noting any deficiencies to the Supervisor.Staying over 30mins into the afternoon shift to assist with any training or setup issues they may be coming into at some point during the shift.Be available to take calls after hours to help support the afternoon shift (till 7pm)Contribute to the cost reduction programs by actively seeking and reporting opportunities for reduced costs.Trainer for new processes and new hires.Work with Production Manager on consumable tooling by ensuring stock levels are set properly and obsolete tools are removed from inventory, etc.Work as a direct link between engineering and production.Develop and maintain open communication with all personnel in the shopWork on enhancing older programs as they come up with better/newer tooling allowing us to machine the parts faster.Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities:Help lead development and maintenance of part specific tooling list.Work with Engineering whenever needed for First Article parts or new tooling.Participate in process improvement initiativesEducation & Experience Qualifications:Diploma/Degree or equivalent in CAM/CNC Programming or 10 plus years' experience with Lathes and setting them up.Must have in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as Turning, Boring, Milling, Drilling and Tapping cycles.Job Requirements:CNC machine operating, programming and process developmentBehavioral Competencies:Good behavior, team player, good communicatorAbility to work flexible schedule to support all shiftsCompany Benefits:2 Medical Plan Options - Base HSA (High Deductible) and Buy-UpPrescription (Rx) InsuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)2 Dental Plan Options - Base Dental and Buy-Up Dental PlansVision InsuranceFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA's)Health Care FSADependent Care FSACompany Paid Base Life InsuranceCompany Paid Accident, Death & Dismemberment InsuranceCompany Paid Business Travel Accident InsuranceCompany Paid Disability InsuranceShort-Term Disability (STD) and Base Long-Term Disability (LTD) InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Voluntary Hospital, Accident & Critical Illness (Cancer) Insurance401(K) Retirement Plan with 50% Company MatchVoluntary Pet InsuranceVacation and Personal/Sick TimePaid Grandparent LeavePaid Bonding LeaveAdoption AssistanceEducation Assistance (Tuition Reimbursement)About Wastequip:Wastequip got its start in 1989 with containers and compactors.
