Title Dental Hygienist Job Description Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take digital X-rays while adhering to infection control standards and radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Dentrix), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including medical records and treatment notes. Support procedures by preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines and OSHA standards. Salary Range full-time $40 - $50 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Requirements Basic life support Cardiopulmonary resuscitation Dentrix Infection Control License Licensed dental hygienist Nitrous Oxide Certification X-ray / Radiography Certification Current and active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license. Current CPR certification. Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic evaluation, patient assessment, and direct patient care. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, human anatomy, and infection control principles. Expertise in operating medical imaging equipment for dental X-rays. Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements. Ability to maintain an organized and clean clinical workspace. Preferences Prior experience working in a dental clinic or specialized periodontal office setting. Proficiency or familiarity with the Dentrix software system for scheduling, documentation, and record keeping. Experience in medical scheduling and reviewing clinical documentation. Experience with health education and counseling in a healthcare setting.
