Job Description

The Float Pool Registered Nurse provides high-quality patient care across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units. Nurses are expected to support a diverse adult and geriatric patient population, managing varying levels of acuity while floating to multiple units as needed. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with conditions such as pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, and congestive heart failure.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation, including 12-lead EKG acquisition.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols, including titrated and stable drips.
• Manage various medical equipment and procedures, including feeding tubes, PCA pumps, and wound vac therapy.
• Provide airway and respiratory management, including CPAP/BiPAP management and tracheostomy care.
• Utilize ancillary staff to enhance patient care, such as certified nursing assistants.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, including travel experience.
• Experience in managing patients with complex medical conditions and multiple comorbidities.
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and care of orthopedic and post-operative medical-surgical patients.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
