Civil Rights Attorney (BigLaw Firms)

Role Overview
Apply civil rights law expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through accurate, real-world legal analysis. This remote contract role focuses on client-centered work involving complex civil rights issues, with no prior AI experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex civil rights statutes, regulations, and case law for relevance and accuracy.
- Conduct detailed legal research and prepare summaries, memoranda, and analyses addressing key issues and precedents.
- Create and review realistic civil rights scenarios, hypotheticals, and legal problems for AI model development.
- Evaluate AI-generated legal analyses, provide expert feedback, and ensure alignment with legal standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to clarify legal concepts, resolve ambiguities, and maintain input quality.
- Create clear, concise legal content for varied learning contexts.
- Identify emerging civil rights risks and trends related to AI and technology platforms.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
- Substantial civil rights law practice experience, preferably at prominent BigLaw firms.
- Strong experience in legal research, legal writing, and case law analysis involving complex, high-stakes matters.
- Excellent critical thinking, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to interpret statutes and policies and explain legal concepts to non-legal audiences.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary or technology-driven environments.
- Interest in law, policy, emerging technology, AI, and their societal impacts.
Work Terms
- Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
- $140 to $400 per hour.
