Position Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Experience Required: 1 Year of Experience

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Travel Experience: Yes

Unit Information

• Type: Adult/Pediatric Emergency Room (ER) - ED Holding, Triage, Urgent Care
• Typical Cases: Chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, and care for emergent, urgent, and non-urgent conditions
• Pediatrics Involvement: 20%

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Chest Tube Management
• TPA Administration
• Breathing Treatments
• Chest Tube Set-up and Care
• Tracheostomy Care
• Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) Administration
• Cardioversion/Defibrillation
• Patient Cooling/Warming Blanket Management
• LVAD/Impella Management
• Obtaining 12 Lead EKGs
• Rapid Infuser Operation

Preferred Experience

• Charge Experience: 1 Year
• Patient Ratio Experience: Experience with managing patient ratios effectively
• Charting System Experience: Familiarity with Community Hospital systems
• Trauma Level Experience: Level II and III Trauma Center experience preferred

Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: Varies, typically a high volume of patient visits
• Number of Rooms: 28

Job Expectations

• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
• Request all scheduled time off during the application process; post-offer requests may not be considered.
• Travelers may be required to float between nearby sister facilities.

If required for the assignment, appropriate communication devices (e.g., cell phone, pager) will be provided without cost to the staff. If such devices are not provided, compensation for work-related cell phone use will be available.
