Position Overview Knox Clinic is seeking a mission-driven communications and development professional who believes healthcare is a human right and who is excited to help build a healthier, more equitable community. We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between storytelling, fundraising, communications, community engagement, and relationship-building. We Offer Competitive Salary and Benefits including: Retirement matching plan Health insurance Short Term Disability Life insurance Paid time Off Professional Development Opportunities A Supportive, Collaborative Work Environment Primary Responsibilities Communications & Digital Media Help grow community awareness, donor engagement, and philanthropic support through compelling storytelling and strategic communications. Organize and execute the Clinic’s communications cadence across all platforms. Utilize design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually compelling marketing materials, flyers, and digital assets that align with the Clinic’s brand language. Assist in marketing the Clinic’s services and impact to the local community, ensuring outreach materials are accessible and engaging. Maintain and update the organization’s website and manage social media postings. Compile and send out newsletters, impact stories, and community updates that keep our supporters engaged and informed. Grant Writing & Management Draft and submit grant applications to foundation, corporate, and government funders. Maintain a strict grants calendar to ensure all deadlines for proposals, renewals, and reports are met. Gather necessary program data and stories to write compelling interim and final grant reports. Annual Fund & Donor Stewardship Manage the logistical execution of the Annual Fund (Spring and Fall appeals), including drafting appeal letters, segmenting lists, and coordinating the physical mailing with the Development and Operations Associate. Assist the Development and Operations Associate to ensure all donations are accurately entered into the donor database and promptly acknowledged with personalized thank‑you letters. Actively participate in donor stewardship to ensure our supporters feel appreciated and connected to the Clinic's impact. Support Events from digital invitations to basic logistics. Executive Director Support Assist the Executive Director in tracking major donor interactions in the database and executing follow‑up tasks to keep relationships moving forward. What You Bring Experience managing multiple competing deadlines and priorities in a fast‑paced nonprofit environment. You are highly organized, detail‑oriented, and take pride in executing plans efficiently. You can write clearly, concisely, and persuasively, whether it’s a formal grant proposal, a social media caption, or a heartfelt thank‑you note. Proficiency with visual design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, or Creative Suite) to quickly produce professional, on‑brand digital and print materials. A sharp eye for creating marketing content that effectively communicates our healthcare services to a diverse community. You have a strong interest in nonprofit fundraising and are excited to gain hands‑on experience across all facets of development. Comfort navigating donor databases (Little Green Light a plus), website platforms, social media, and basic office software. You possess a genuine passion for healthcare equity and the Knox Clinic’s mission to provide accessible care to our neighbors. Availability for occasional evening and weekend work for events and fundraising activities. Knox County is 1.5 hours north of Portland, Maine on Penobscot Bay.
