RN – Hematology / Outpatient Infusion

Shift Details

• 40 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
• No weekends, no holidays, and no on-call responsibilities

Position Overview

• Exciting opportunity to join a community-based oncology practice that is part of a nationally recognized, NCI-designated cancer center
• Small, collaborative practice consisting of an MD, APP, LPN, Ambulatory Tech, and 3 RNs
• Infusion assignment includes a mixture of hematology/oncology, monoclonal antibodies, and non-oncology referral infusions
• Typical infusion assignment covers 8 patients and involves chemotherapy teaching at the chairside
• Maximum daily infusion capacity is 24 patients

Requirements

• 2–3 years of recent infusion experience required; outpatient clinic experience highly desired
• ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris infusion pumps
• Ability to work independently and manage a full patient assignment with minimal supervision
• Strong IV/vascular access and port access skills
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and the oncology care team
• Current, unencumbered NYS RN licensure
