Field Technician

Position Overview: As a Field Technician , you will assist with the construction, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic and coaxial cable networks. You will work outdoors, handling essential equipment and supporting experienced crew members on job sites. This is a hands-on, entry-level position with plenty of opportunity for training and growth into specialized roles like aerial lineman, splicer, or supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Assist with installation and maintenance of overhead and underground fiber/coax cable. Support crews in setting up strand, pulling cable, lashing fiber, and preparing work sites. Operate and maintain basic tools and equipment (ladders, rollers, cable pullers). Learn to read and understand construction prints and schematics. Help identify and resolve minor field issues with guidance from senior technicians. Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Accurately document work completed and materials used. Travel to various job sites as needed. Required Qualifications: Interest in broadband construction and willingness to learn the trade. Ability to work at heights using ladders or bucket trucks (training provided). Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to safety. Good communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing. Physical ability to lift 75 lbs., climb, bend, and stand for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications (Not Required): Previous experience in construction, utilities, or telecom (a plus). Familiarity with hand tools and measuring devices.
