The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. The role emphasizes customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The Registered Nurse is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. The position promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice. The Registered Nurse supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the Registered Nurse assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The Registered Nurse prioritizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. This role applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is also a component of this role. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments according to policy and procedure. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to meet organizational and patient needs. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor while promoting teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
