Process Engineer

Trillium Professional is now seeking a Process Engineer: Production & Automation Equipment in Shelbyville, IN! Annual salary is $120,000–$140,000/year. An innovative and rapidly growing designer and manufacturer of production and automation equipment serving the lead‑acid battery industry is seeking a talented Process Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technology and play a key role in improving manufacturing processes for a global customer base. The Process Engineer will evaluate, optimize, and maintain manufacturing and production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness. This position collaborates closely with operations, quality, and engineering teams to develop and implement new processes, drive continuous improvement, and support customers in achieving performance and quality objectives. This role includes up to 50% travel (domestic and international) to customer and project sites. Will consider college grads with 1‑2 co‑ops in Process Engineering. Will consider candidates who have completed schooling within last 1‑3 years. Key Responsibilities Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements. Design, implement, and monitor optimized process solutions. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to establish and maintain production standards. Troubleshoot process and equipment issues impacting performance. Provide expert recommendations to customers on how to achieve optimal results with automation equipment. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Deliver technical training and process guidance to customer teams. Develop and maintain detailed process documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.). Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Support process design and continuous improvement initiatives at customer and supplier sites. Candidate must be moldable and coachable. Experience in metal stamping or related manufacturing processes. Proficiency in SolidWorks for design and process documentation. MUST have experience and be able to cite examples of root cause analysis and implementing corrective action. Familiarity with controls programming and troubleshooting preferred. Experience in die tooling design and maintenance. Experience in PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
