Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary: Provides comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, treatment, and discharge planning for patients of all ages. Ensures prompt, safe, and effective management of emergency cases in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Conducts accurate triage assessments, identifying abnormal signs and symptoms, and notifies physicians accordingly.
  
  
• 
  Reviews, documents, and completes patient orders efficiently to support timely care delivery.
  
  
• 
  Educates patients on medication side effects and ensures discharge instructions include essential teaching.
  
  
• 
  Recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and initiates appropriate emergency interventions.
  
  
• 
  Performs routine nursing procedures such as medication administration, IV therapy, and care of indwelling devices.
  
  
• 
  Manages life-threatening events including Code Blue, Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma activations, ensuring proper response and documentation.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current RN license in the state of practice.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of two years recent experience in an emergency or acute care setting.
  
  
• 
  BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from approved vendors.
  
  
• 
  Strong skills in ECG interpretation and emergency monitoring.
  
  
• 
  Proficient in using electronic medical records, specifically Epic.
  
  
• 
  Must have current NIHSS certification and experience with trauma and critical care protocols.
