Overview

Geisinger is seeking BC/BE Hematologists to join well‑established cancer programs at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. This role offers early career and experienced hematology oncology physicians the ability to develop their career within a physician‑led organization.

Weekly Hours: 40

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality cancer care as part of a collaborative team working with surgical oncology, palliative medicine, radiation oncology, pathology, diagnostic radiology, and behavioral medicine.
• Collaborate with fellows and residents to train the next generation of hematology and oncology physicians.
• Participate in the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, providing education, active learning, longitudinal clinical experiences and community engagement.
• Contribute to the MyCode Community Health Initiative, involving over 275,000 patient genomes sequenced for research and real‑time clinical applications.
• Engage in clinical or informatics research and collaborate within Geisinger and across organizations.
• Enroll patients on clinical trials.
• Benefit from a fully integrated electronic health record (EPIC).

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD/DO) – required.
• Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania.
• Background in hematology/oncology (early career or experienced).
• Skills in patient care, procedural techniques, professional etiquette, and systems‑based practice.
