Position Overview

The Rheumatologist will operate within their designated privileges and is expected to stay updated with the latest knowledge and skills in the field. The role involves providing comprehensive Rheumatology care through various interventions. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting thorough examinations, diagnosing, and treating patients with both suspected and confirmed rheumatologic conditions.

• Assessing laboratory results and clinical data to identify different contributing factors and recommending suitable treatments.

• Employing telehealth technologies to deliver patient care when appropriate and with patient agreement.

• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in an efficient and resourceful manner.

• Carrying out procedures specific to the Rheumatology specialty.

• Managing patients who require biologics, IV bisphosphonates, and other complex medications.

• Providing compassionate and effective care aimed at treating illnesses, promoting health, and preventing disabilities.

• Teaching, mentoring, and supervising medical students and residents in the field of rheumatology.

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.

• Engaging in departmental quality initiatives, including focused and ongoing professional practice evaluations.

• Exhibiting strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.

• Acting as a Clinician-Educator within the facility's Academic Affiliations, promoting current learning in Rheumatology topics.

• Working in partnership with other specialists and Primary Care PACT teams to ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care.

• Performing additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Medicine, Deputy Chief of Staff, or Chief of Staff.

Applicants should possess a proven track record of delivering high-quality clinical care to patients. The position requires:

• U.S. citizenship
• An M.D. or D.O. degree
• A full, active, and unrestricted medical license
• Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Rheumatology
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility
