Description

American Traveler is hiring a Home Health/Hospice RN with a SD or compact RN license to provide dual-role field care in Rapid City.

Details

• Field-based home health and hospice position serving patients in their homes
• Dual role providing both home health and hospice care with training and support provided
• Routine caseload of 5-6 patients per day with approximately 2 admissions per day
• Works alongside an LPN managing a combined caseload of 20-25 patients, seeing each patient once per week
• Uses Epic Remote charting system
• Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend
• On-call required, up to one 12-hour call shift per week
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (South Dakota or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Completion of an accredited nursing education program required
• Experience with OASIS, hospice philosophy, and infection control practices required
• Skilled in wound vac management, wound care, PICC line dressing changes, port access, IV infusions, drain management, and catheter insertion
• Ability to draw labs in the home setting
• Ability to drive at night required
• Strong critical thinking skills required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive home health and hospice nursing care in the field
• CNA support is provided to patients in the home
• Clinical Resource Nurse and Designated Case Managers available per region
• Nurse independently performs phlebotomy and IV/VAT services in the home
• Orientation takes place in the field with an office base located in Rapid City, SD
• Will work scheduled shifts on holidays that fall on weekdays
• Scrub color is flexible, business casual dress also acceptable
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers considered if they have home health and hospice experience
• Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility
• Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
• Facility is known for being very traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
