Registered Nurse - PACU (Per Diem) position involves providing age‑specific care for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Highlights Location: Huntington, NY Schedule: Per Diem, Varied Hours/Varied Shifts Sign‑On Bonus: Up to $25,000 What You’ll Do Assess patients' physiologic health status through interviews and chart reviews. Evaluate gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition; adjust care plans as needed. Assess pain levels and manage pain effectively. Communicate and document patients' health status and care plans. Elicit patients' perceptions of care and identify coping mechanisms. Develop criteria for measuring patient outcomes and identify potential problems. Formulate and document individualized plans of care. Implement care plans while ensuring safety precautions are followed. Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions. Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Experience: Critical Care experience required. PACU experience required. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS, ACLS, PALS required. Conscious Sedation required.
