Project Engineer

Project Engineer Overview The Project Engineer is responsible for managing steam boiler orders with regards to accuracy, timeliness, manufacturing efficiencies, manufacturing support, and customer satisfaction. The Project Engineer will develop and improve the processes of accepting, entering and processing steam boiler orders as received from Application Engineering in a manner that is consistent with the Company values and operating philosophy. Accountabilities Customer Orders – Reviews and approves purchase order, specifications, acknowledgement, and drawings for the customer and production as required by the production timeline. Ensures that all drawings conform to best engineering practices and any applicable code requirements. Identify and specify components any special order parts that need to be purchased to fulfill the requirements of the order. Technical Support – Provide technical support during manufacturing, and perform in-process and final inspections. Provide technical support for aftermarket functions, including support for installation, service, and providing any required literature or documentation. Customer Support and Satisfaction – Act as a liaison between manufacturing and the customer, communicating with the customers as needed to resolve technical issues and commercial issues. Documentation – Ensure that proper documentation is obtained, saved in the job file, and provided to the customer. Qualifications Engineering Degree or Technical Degree Preferred Project Management Experience Knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical Design Principles Demonstrated Critical Competencies Communication – Ability to ensure information is passed on to others who should be kept informed. Ability to express oneself clearly in conversation and interaction with others. Ability to express oneself clearly in business writing. Technical Expertise – The ability to demonstrate depth of knowledge and skill in a technical area. Thoroughness – Ensuring work and information is complete and accurate; carefully preparing for meetings and presentations, following up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled. Stress Management – The ability to keep functioning effectively when under pressure and maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation. Decisiveness – The ability to make difficult decisions in a timely manner. Physical Requirements Repetitive Motion – Substantial movement/motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers. Sitting – The body is supported by buttocks and back and employees needs to remain seated for extended periods of time. Walking – Moving about on foot to travel and accomplish tasks, including long distances. Vision – Visual acuity is required to view a computer terminal and to analyze data.
