From our Lakewood, Colorado office, we execute projects across North America spanning from California to Florida and Canada down to Mexico. Our projects range from simple engineering studies to full‑scale design of large facilities. ZAP operates at a fast pace while providing a team‑centric approach to our work. About Your Role This hands‑on, full‑time position is responsible for providing updates internally and externally regarding project status, including earned value, cost performance, and schedule performance. The Project Controls Specialist coordinates with and supports Project Managers and project teams and interfaces with clients. The role also maintains project documents and records. Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities Coordinate with project teams and external parties to gather information for project status reports, including financial information and earned value. Handle earned value management and client communication. Manage quality assurance and quality control of project documents and drawings, including document routing and issuance of transmittals. Maintain master drawing lists and drawing folders, assist with document sharing sites, and help with job books. Create and update schedules and understand the workflow of engineering and construction activities. Support construction through submittal and RFI routing, earned value, and quantity tracking, communicating between field and office. Coordinate meetings, record minutes, and distribute them to internal and external project teams. Assist with other duties as assigned. Work Hours and Schedule The position works 8:00am to 5:00pm. Hours may vary with business needs. A 40‑hour work week is expected, Monday through Friday. Evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required as needed. High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software. Experience with construction quantity takeoffs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Problem‑solving skills and the ability to propose solutions. Developing leadership skills and some experience leading work groups. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). Ability to self‑direct and take responsibility for own tasks, deliverables, and timelines. P6 Scheduling Experience Provides schedule analysis and handles construction quantity takeoffs. Type Of Experience Needed To Be Successful Excellent written and verbal communication. Problem‑solving and mutually beneficial solution proposals. Developing leadership skills and general experience leading work groups. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to self‑direct and take responsibility for tasks, deliverables, and timelines. Supervisory Expectations The position does not have regular responsibility for overseeing or supervising other team members, though it may act as a mentor to less experienced team members. Independence of Action Work progress is monitored by a supervisor/manager. Incumbent follows precedents and procedures, sets priorities, and organizes work within general guidelines established by leadership. Physical Demands and Work Environment Typical office and construction environments with distractions such as staff, clients, vendors, and phone ringing. Required to sit regularly, use hands to manipulate objects, talk or hear frequently, and stand or walk occasionally. Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
