Electrical Helper Duties
An electrical helper assists licensed electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, performing hands-on tasks such as wiring, conduit work, and equipment setup under supervision.
Core Responsibilities
An electrical helper’s role is to support electricians in residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code. Key duties include:
- Assisting with installations : Helping install wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and other electrical components under the direction of a licensed electrician Job Descriptions, Resumes, and Career Resources +1 .
- Running conduit and pulling wire : Measuring, cutting, and bending conduit; pulling wiring through raceways to connect power to outlets, fixtures, and equipment InterviewPrep.
- Preparing work areas : Clearing debris, organizing tools and materials, and maintaining a clean, safe job site InterviewPrep +1 .
- Troubleshooting support : Assisting in identifying and locating electrical issues, such as faulty wiring or malfunctioning equipment InterviewPrep +1 .
- Tool and material management : Transporting and organizing tools, inventory, and supplies; ensuring materials are available for the crew Job Descriptions, Resumes, and Career Resources +1 .
- Safety compliance : Following all safety protocols, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to electrical codes InterviewPrep +1 .

Skills and Qualifications
While this is often an entry-level role, employers may expect:
