This role is a 3-month to long term contract assignment.Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Duration: 13 weeks with possibility of extensionJob DutiesProvide psychiatric healthcare, evaluation, crisis intervention, and acute treatments to adult mentally ill patientsEnsures continuity of psychiatric care through provisions of services including discharge and referralTriages healthcare situations to determine needed level of intervention in crisis situationsVerifies and carries out prescriber ordersRecords changes in medications, laboratory tests and prescriber recommendationsCommunicates current psychiatric medication orders, missed medications or other pertinent psychiatric information with clients, prescribers and nursing staff, clinicians, and family members as appropriateAdministers medications, including injections, and educates clients regarding medications (risks, benefits and side effects and medication compliance)Minimum QualificationValid California Registered Nurse License is requiredAt least 6 months to One (1) year of experience working with inpatient psychiatric patients. COVID vaccination cardA current certification in accordance with the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program is required at the time of appointment.Physical Test ReportCPI Certification (if not, they will provide the training)PPD/Chest-Xray/TB ResultsMandated Reporter Certificate before the start date (Candidate can get the free training from mandatedreporterca.com)A minimum of two (2) employment referencesRequired to complete Orientation/Training before the onsite orientation for 10 days.
