Your Key Responsibilities Model development and optimization Model validations and efficiency assessments Actuarial transformation Mergers and Acquisitions Financial and regulatory reporting Skills And Attributes For Success Consistently deliver quality client services and high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Assist clients in tackling unique and complex business issues using your experience, innovative solution development, leadership and a strong EY support team. Cultivate and manage business development opportunities, understanding EY and its service lines and actively assessing ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long‑term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs. Foster an innovative and inclusive team‑oriented work environment. Play an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members in real time. Demonstrate in‑depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge, with the ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge. Possess good business acumen and remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge. Understand and communicate complex actuarial issues, stay informed of and apply professional standards and firm policies (e.g., Actuarial Standards of Practice). Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles, participating in industry groups and speaking at seminars. To qualify for the role, you must have A Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or another related major Approximately 8+ years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years of people and/or project management Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries Strong knowledge of at least one prominent actuarial modeling software platform including but not limited to: Moody’s GGY AXIS, FIS Prophet, Milliman ALFA/Integrate, Aon Benfield PathWise, Slope, PolySystems, among others Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills A proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressure Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs Ideally, you’ll also have Prior experience with key platform library coding modules specific to actuarial modeling platforms worked with previously (asset, liability, economic-related modules) Solution design expertise, with the ability to effectively translate business requirements into modeling solutions Proficient in model staging and development skill sets, including coding, data transformation and prep, batch creation and automation, assumption management, and extraction / manipulation of model output Proficient in model development lifecycle processes and activities, including model change management, unit and user acceptance testing procedures Knowledge of US Life, Health and Annuity products, including prominent features, product dynamics, and key modeling considerations. Associated regulations including STAT/GAAP reporting with considerations of emerging frameworks (such as VM‑22) are also encouraged. Experience with asset modeling and ALM-related concepts, including asset model staging, processing data from externally projected asset sources, asset/liability interaction modeling, reinvestment modeling, and management of run time/fidelity trade‑offs Experience with open‑source coding paradigms such as Python, R, Julia, others Experience with leading and overseeing actuarial modeling projects, including model development, validation, and optimization What We Look For We’re most interested in intellectually curious actuaries with a clear passion for actuarial work. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $171,000 to $390,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $205,100 to $443,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
