Appellate Attorney - Trial & Defense

Clyde & Co is seeking Associate or Counsel level Appellate Attorneys to support our growing Appellate, Litigation Strategy, and Trial Monitoring practice. This practice includes catastrophic personal injury cases, complex business and commercial litigation, premises liability, mass tort, and trucking and transportation matters. The ideal candidate has appellate trial monitoring experience, as well as substantial experience drafting pre- and post-trial motions, appellate briefs, and all types of dispositive motions. The ideal candidate is also proactive, motivated, organized, and possesses superior oral argument, research and writing skills.

This role is available in New York, with a hybrid option.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Review and analyze trial records, appellate records, appellate briefs, and all types of evidence involving highly sophisticated and complicated legal issues

• Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda.

• Provide research and support on complex cases

• Draft pre-trial motions, post-trial motions, appellate briefs, and dispositive motions on highly complex and high exposure cases.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Admission to the New York and ideally New Jersey Bar (or at least eligible for admission)

• 3+ years of appellate experience

• Excellent academic credentials

• Exceptional legal writing and communication skills

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly

The salary range for this position is: Associate - $140,000-$150,000, Counsel/Senior Counsel - $200,000-$250,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential
