Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Clinton, MD Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,052 per week Shift: Nights – 3 days x 12 hours (19:00 – 07:00) Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 8/10/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is partnering with Prime Staffing to place a qualified NICU RN in Clinton, Maryland. The role supports the Special Care Nursery, a Level II unit providing continuous monitoring and stabilization of neonatal patients. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to newborns and neonates in a Level II NICU setting. Monitor and maintain cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal stability. Assist with specialized procedures, including lumbar puncture and endotracheal resuscitation of newborns ≥32 weeks gestational age. Initiate, modify, or discontinue treatments per established protocols and physician orders. Support high‑flow O₂, CPAP, bubble CPAP, and mechanical ventilation therapies. Manage central lines, perform peripheral IV insertions, draw labs, and administer IV antibiotics. Monitor apnea and bradycardia events in pre‑term infants and provide timely interventions. Stabilize newborns Conduct thermoregulation management and passive cooling for pre‑term and full‑term infants. Perform neonatal resuscitation and other emergency procedures, following NRP and STABLE protocols. Float to Postpartum and Labor & Delivery units for neonatal care. Attend all scheduled night shifts (3×12 h) and alternate weekends/hollidays per contract. Qualifications BLS, NRP, and STABLE (S.T.A.B.L.E.) certifications. Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, including NICU II and CPAP experience. Prior travel nursing experience, with at least one completed assignment and no cancellations. Ability to pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam – overall score ≥80% with 100% on lethal rhythms. Valid nursing license: DC license (or pending) for DC locations; MD compact or MD license for MD locations. Excellent patient‑ratio experience (3:1) and proficiency with Cerner charting system. Strong communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
