YARD HELPER / TANK REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Location: Nederland, TX
Pay: $20.00–$22.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Hours: Currently averaging 50–55 hours per week , including overtime and occasional weekends.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Yard Helper / Tank Repair Technician to support daily yard and shop operations. This is a hands-on industrial position responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area while assisting with the inspection, cleaning, servicing, testing, and repair of frac tanks and other environmental containment equipment.

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working outdoors, has basic welding and mechanical skills , and is willing to work overtime and assist at customer or company locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, organized, and debris-free shop and yard areas.
• Receive and inspect roll-off frac tanks, boxes, and containment equipment returning from field service.
• Inspect tanks and components for damage, leaks, worn gaskets, damaged liners, and other repair needs.
• Perform basic MIG and stick welding to repair damaged metal tanks and components.
• Replace gaskets, liners, and other components as needed.
• Perform hydrostatic testing by filling tanks with water, checking for leaks, completing necessary repairs, and draining tanks.
• Clean, service, and prepare equipment for return to service.
• Operate a forklift to move and stage equipment safely.
• Enter inspection and service information into the computer system.
• Communicate equipment issues or additional repair needs to the supervisor.
• Assist with field service work and interact professionally with customers as responsibilities expand.

Requirements

• Basic MIG and stick welding experience required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch .
• Forklift operating experience.
• Valid driver's license required ; position may travel to other Texas locations and operate company vehicles after permanent hire.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for the majority of the shift.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to take initiative with minimal supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and communicate questions or concerns.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to drive a 5-speed manual transmission preferred .
• Must be able to meet required DISA background requirements upon permanent hire.
• Must be available for overtime, occasional weekends, and on-call rotation as needed.

Work Environment

This is a production-driven, hands-on industrial role involving outdoor and shop work. Candidates should be comfortable working around large industrial equipment, tanks, tools, water, dirt, and changing weather conditions.
