Financial Aid Officer

Queens College of Theology (QCT) is seeking a detail‑oriented and trustworthy volunteer to serve as a Financial Aid Officer. This individual will assist students in understanding tuition costs, applying for financial aid, reviewing eligibility, and managing payment processes. The Financial Aid Officer plays a critical role in helping students remove financial barriers and successfully enroll in their chosen program. Key Responsibilities Financial Aid Guidance Assist students in completing TAP (Tuition Adjustment Program) applications Explain available aid options, payment plans, and institutional policies Review submitted documents for completeness and accuracy Communicate next steps clearly and promptly Cost & Budget Communication Prepare and send Cost of Attendance estimates Clearly explain tuition, fees, and payment schedules Answer questions regarding billing and financial policies Payment Processing & Tracking Coordinate and collect tuition payments Assist students in setting up payment plans when applicable Maintain accurate records of financial aid status and payments Student Support Serve as a consistent point of contact for financial matters Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information Provide professional, compassionate guidance throughout the enrollment process Qualifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills High level of integrity and discretion Clear written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with spreadsheets, financial documents, and email systems Prior experience in financial aid, accounting, administration, or customer service preferred but not required Alignment with the mission and values of Queens College of Theology Time Commitment Approximately 10 hours per week at minimum Flexible scheduling Remote‑friendly position Why Serve in This Role?
