Registered Nurse - Oncology

Location: San Antonio, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A with rotating weekends.

Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the needs of our oncology patients are met with the utmost professionalism and respect.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other oncology treatments.
• Perform central line and mediport access, including lab draws.
• Conduct blood product transfusions and related procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Meditech.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines in chemotherapy administration.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active TX RN License (Temp License is NOT accepted).
• At least 5 years of nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years in oncology.
• Experience with mediports, PICCs, and central lines is required.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Chemotherapy certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with Meditech is a plus.
