Senior Python Developer

Python DeveloperPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Python Developer to design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs for high-performance, scalable applications. You will collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable microservices, optimize performance, ensure observability and security, and contribute to architecture and development best practices. The ideal candidate has solid experience with modern Python frameworks, relational and NoSQL databases, asynchronous programming, testing, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI.Build RESTful and GraphQL endpoints, adhering to OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and RESTful design principles.Develop and maintain database schemas and queries for PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite and integrate with NoSQL stores like MongoDB and Redis.Implement data access using ORMs and libraries such as Django ORM, SQLAlchemy, and raw SQL when appropriate.Architect and implement asynchronous and concurrent systems using AsyncIO, multithreading, multiprocessing, Celery, and other concurrency patterns.Integrate and operate message brokers and event-driven systems with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.Write robust unit and integration tests using PyTest and Unittest, apply TDD principles where appropriate, and maintain high test coverage.Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployments using tools and infrastructure (Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes).Package and containerize applications using Docker; collaborate with platform teams to deploy and operate services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.Apply performance optimization and profiling techniques, improve latency and throughput, and implement efficient caching strategies.Instrument applications for observability and error tracking using Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, and centralized logging.Implement authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth, JWT, and follow security best practices for web applications and APIs.Use IaC tools such as Terraform to define and manage cloud infrastructure alongside DevOps practices.Participate in code reviews, mentoring, technical design discussions, and contribute to architecture, documentation, and operational runbooks.Monitor production services, respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive reliability improvements.QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.3+ years of professional experience developing backend systems in Python; strong knowledge of Python idioms and best practices.Hands-on experience with Django, Flask, and/or FastAPI and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.Proficiency with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis); experience with ORMs such as SQLAlchemy and Django ORM.Experience with asynchronous programming (AsyncIO), concurrency (multithreading, multiprocessing), and task queues (Celery).Familiarity with message brokers and event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or Kafka.Proven experience writing automated tests (PyTest, Unittest) and applying TDD and unit testing principles.Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and Linux/Bash environments.Experience deploying and operating services on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and using Terraform for infrastructure as code.Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and error tracking (Sentry); strong logging and profiling skills for performance optimization.Solid understanding of security best practices for APIs, OAuth/JWT, and general application hardening.Familiarity with developer tooling and packaging (pip, virtualenv, Poetry), version control with Git, and API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).Comfortable working in an agile, cross-functional team; strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a focus on maintainable, testable code.Type hinting and static analysis experience (Type Hints, Mypy) is a plus.
