Assists during interventional and surgical operating room procedures./ppstrongEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned./strong/pulliPrepares patient for medical procedure according to established guidelines./liliEnsures documented informed consent has been received from patient prior to administering sedation./liliAdministers medication as needed./liliAdministers IV therapy and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures./liliFacilitates patient transfer to EMS and hospital facility./liliExpedites timely and smooth flow of patients through the ASC./liliCompletes patient assessments for potential problems with patency and other indicators of dialysis access./liliMaintains accurate and complete medical records./liliProvides patient education and instructions on home care and documents patients understanding./liliUses equipment standard to the profession, such as cardiac monitors, oxygen administration systems and stethoscopes./liliPerforms crash cart maintenance and defibrillator checks./liliEnters pertinent information in computer system designed for statistical analysis, research and patient follow-up./liliMaintains Infection Log book./liliAssists with maintaining adequate supply and medication inventory./liliComplies with current OSHA guidelines./liliMaintains patients right to privacy./liliParticipates in the Quality Assurance (QA) Program./li/ulpstrongEducation/Experience:/strong/pulliAssociates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Two years acute or critical care experience is preferred in addition to experience with Conscious Sedation./li/ulpstrongCertificates and Licenses:/strong/pulliCurrent Arizona Registered Nurse License, current certification in Basic Life Support and current ACLS certification./li/ulpstrongLanguage Ability:/strong/pulliAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals./liliAbility to write routine reports and correspondence./liliAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization./li/ulpstrongMath Ability:/strong/pulliAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals./liliAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs./li/ulpstrongReasoning Ability:/strong/pulliAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists./liliAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form./li/ulpstrongComputer Skills:/strong/pulliTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have some basic computer knowledge./li/ulpstrongWork Environment:/strong/ppThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
