Medical Assistant – Outpatient Clinic

Requirements:

• 1 year of outpatient clinic experience required
• Medical Assistant diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Required certification: BLS (AHA or ARC only)
• Preferred: surgery center or procedure experience

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist in patient care by obtaining vital signs and performing venipuncture
• Room patients and document medical history and medication
• Administer immunizations and intramuscular injections as needed
• Label specimens and perform suture removal
• Verify insurance and handle authorization forms
• Conduct follow-up phone calls with patients as necessary

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation consists of 40 hours
• Two references from within the past 12 months required at time of submission — must be supervisor or higher
• MA certification must be from a DAPIP-accredited school (copy of certificate required with submission)
• Any license/background issues must be disclosed and fully resolved prior to submission
