Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: MPCC - Pebble Beach, CA 93953 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $32.00 - $34.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. Responsibilities Responsible for assisting with the recruiting process to include advertising/job postings, pre‑screening interviews, review of candidate files and onboarding. Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the Club. Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or Human Resources Director during the offer process, identifying start dates and other pertinent details. Facilitates background, reference checks and DMV pull. Handles employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions. Assists with implementation and conducting new hire orientation. Assists with providing education to employees on the application of company policies and procedures. Aids and guides management and line staff on HR‑related questions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non‑mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. Makes sure the HRIS contains accurate employee records and produces HR reports, analyses, and other data‑driven information as required. Assists with payroll administration, including reviewing timesheets, auditing employee data, processing employee status changes, wage adjustments, deductions, and other payroll‑related transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing. Assists with development, implementation, and execution of employee recognition programs and events. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs such as compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Supports the Club's comprehensive safety program by facilitating monthly meetings, promoting workplace safety initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce injuries and incidents, evaluating and improving safety training programs, conducting safety inspections and compliance audits, and assisting with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures. Ensures the work environment is safe and Codes of Safe Practices are adhered to consistently. Reports injuries timely. Facilitates posting of monthly birthday and anniversary list and signing of cards. Attends staff meetings. Reports to work regularly and on time, follows directions, takes criticism, gets along with co‑workers and supervisors, treats co‑workers, supervisors and members/guests with respect and courtesy, and refrains from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior. Non‑essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director, including answering and returning phone calls/emails, responding to inquiries, coordinating communications, and assisting with departmental administrative tasks as needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), HRMS/HRIS systems, and standard office equipment. General knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, and organizational development. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and their practical application within the organization. Working knowledge of payroll processes, wage and hour regulations, payroll reporting, and payroll software platforms; ability to maintain confidential payroll and employee information with a high degree of accuracy. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and make informed decisions in a professional manner. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization and with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees, managers, members, guests, and external partners. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while providing guidance and support through a consultative approach. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, safety regulations, operating instructions, and other business‑related documents. Ability to maintain a professional image and appearance consistent with the Employee Handbook and departmental standards. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of human resources, management operations, or related professional experience; or an associate degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with at least one (1) year of related experience. Experience supporting payroll processing and payroll‑related functions, preferably in a multi‑department hospitality, club, resort, or service‑oriented environment. Private club, resort and/or hospitality experience preferred. Certificates & Licenses Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US. Valid California Driver License with clean motor vehicle record. Work Environment Work is primarily performed indoors in a well‑lit area at a moderate noise level. Employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions on occasion. Weather conditions range from wintertime lows of 30 degrees to summertime highs to 80+ degrees. Physical Demands Occasionally move boxes and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the Club. Must be able to remain in a stationary position up 80% of the time. Must be able to occasionally move about both the inside and the outside of the Club.
