500000 Sign on Bonus Schedule Tuesday Saturday 0430 1300 with weekends holidays on call and other shifts as needed Location WoodwardHistology SalaryHourly Hourly Position Job Summary Perform a variety of histology laboratory functions which include processing of specimens embedding microtomy H&E staining and slide distribution Produce quality tissue processing and histologic specimens to the expectations of pathologists and clients ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Perform histology laboratory procedures with a high degree of proficiency and efficiency Meet departmental productivity standards Operate laboratory equipment interfaces and instruments perform and document basic and advanced maintenance and complex calibration procedures Serve as Key Operator for assigned instruments as needed or directed Perform routine logging for Quality Control QCQuality Assurance QA purposes Collect and compile QA data as directed Monitor QC for trends and take corrective action as needed or directed Participate in QCQA tracking Follow through on problems; develop appropriate solutions using defined guidelines Coordinate compile and prepare QA data and perform audits as necessary Review and prepare monthly QC reports Assist with the development of procedure documents and job aids as needed Perform all troubleshooting procedures Identify problems and develop appropriate solutions using defined guidelines Under general supervision perform research and development tasks to include research and validation testing Actively participate in preparation for regulatory inspections taking responsibility for section andor department as assigned Participate in training new employees and students where appropriate Provide instruction and information regarding protocols and theory as appropriate Track progress of trainees Assess trainee competency in specified areas The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent plus 60 hours of college which include 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry in any combination MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Nine 9 months of direct Histology experience independent embedding microtomy OR completion of TriCores Histology Apprentice Program Qualified for enrollment in an accredited NAACLS histology training program Requirements include High School diploma or equivalent and successful completion college level courses in biology chemistry and math PREFERENCES Relevant ASCP or equivalent certification TriCore is New Mexicos largest laboratory employing more than 1400 individuals who serve in a broad range of positions We are dedicated to improving the quality of care for our communities and also our employees We foster a culture of integrity are dedicated to excellence and are looking for passionate individuals with a desire to have an impact in patient care the core of our strategy We offer excellent benefits including medical dental vision and life insurances 401k retirement plan with employer matching PTO and paid holidays as well as opportunities for continuous learning education assistance wellness programs career advancement and the ability to share in our genuine commitment to the health of our communities We offer a variety of shifts at multiple locations #J-18808-Ljbffr
