RN Emergency Department

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) in Kremmling, CO is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Critical Access Hospital setting. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge in the Emergency Department, following established protocols including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BLS. The ED RN works to achieve optimal patient outcomes through clinical pathway implementation and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital and trauma care is preferred. Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care in the Emergency Department from admission through discharge.
• Utilize accepted standards and protocols including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Implement clinical pathways to achieve patient care outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide skilled nursing care in a trauma level IV emergency setting.
• Participate in on-call duties and holiday shifts as required.
• Maintain documentation and patient records according to hospital policies.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Emergency Department or Critical Access Hospital settings.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent.
• Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.

• Experience working in a trauma level IV emergency department.
• Prior Critical Access Hospital (CAH) experience.
• Familiarity with rural healthcare environment and patient population.

• On-call duties and holiday shifts are mandatory.
• All requests for time off must be disclosed during the interview process.
• Shared housing may be available within 30 miles, with restrictions including no smoking, no pets, and no families or partners allowed.
• Work environment is at 7000 feet elevation in a mountain community.

• Night shift position covering Emergency Department.
• Work schedule includes three 12-hour day shifts per week plus two call shifts.
• Shift assignments are structured to meet department needs including holidays and on-call coverage.
