This role will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to analyze acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and other strategic transactions.The position requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights that support executive decision-making.The RoleThe Sr. M&A Analyst is a hands-on contributor responsible for supporting the Corporate Development team across the full transaction lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, and execution. This individual will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to deliver financial analysis, market insights, and transaction coordination.This role reports into Corporate Development leadership and partners closely with business units, finance, legal, and strategy teams.Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Market IntelligenceSupport development and maintenance of a pipeline of potential transaction opportunities.Track industry activity across public companies, private equity, and venture capital.Maintain internal databases of comparable transactions and market intelligence.Assist in managing inbound opportunities from investment banks and target companies.Transaction EvaluationConduct market research, competitive analysis, and industry assessments.Support strategic analyses including market sizing, customer segmentation, and business case development.Analyze financial statements, business plans, and pro forma models to identify key drivers and assumptions.Prepare summaries and insights to inform internal stakeholders and leadership discussions.Transaction Execution & Due DiligenceSupport coordination of due diligence across functional areas (finance, legal, HR, operations, technology).Assist in tracking diligence progress, documentation, and information requests.Synthesize diligence findings and highlight key risks and considerations.Contribute to development of investment memoranda and executive-level presentation materials.Coordinate with external advisors including bankers, consultants, and legal counsel.Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with internal stakeholders across business units and corporate functions to support transaction evaluation.Facilitate communication and information flow across cross-functional deal teams.Support alignment across stakeholders during transaction processes.QualificationsMinimum Requirements4+ years of relevant experience in:Investment bankingCorporate developmentPrivate equity / venture capitalTransaction advisory or strategyBachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related fieldCritical SkillsFinancial analysis and valuation: Strong foundation in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and analysis of company performance.Research and market insight: Ability to synthesize market data, competitive intelligence, and industry trends into actionable insights.Problem-solving: Structured thinker capable of breaking down complex business problems and identifying key drivers.Communication: Ability to clearly communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.Attention to detail: High degree of accuracy in financial analysis and deliverables.Collaboration: Effective team player with experience working across cross-functional environments.Project coordination: Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.Additional Knowledge & SkillsExperience supporting M&A transactions or strategic initiatives preferredFamiliarity with financial tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, CapIQ, or PitchBookExposure to working with external advisors (investment bankers, consultants, legal teams) preferredHealthcare or related industry experience preferredEducationBachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field requiredMBA or advanced degree preferredPhysical RequirementsGeneral office demandsLocationFull-time remote (U.S.-based; open to any location) Additional RequirementsMust be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
