The Chicago Marriott Schaumburg is currently hiring a Director of Catering. The hotel Director of Catering leads the property's catering sales, event planning, and banquet execution strategy. This department head drives profitable food and beverage revenue across corporate, wedding, and social segments while managing client relationships from booking to on-site execution and directing cross-departmental operations.

$90,000 - $100,000 yearly

• Sales & Revenue Strategy : Develop annual catering budgets, solicit new business, negotiate client contracts, and partner with revenue management to maximize function space yield.

• Event Planning & Detailing : Oversee creation of accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), lead BEO coordination meetings, and conduct client menu tastings and site walks.

• Operational Execution : Partner seamlessly with the Executive Chef, culinary teams, and banquet operations to guarantee flawless event delivery.

• Team Leadership : Recruit, train, and coach catering sales managers and event coordinators, managing performance and scheduling.

• Brand & Safety Compliance : Ensure adherence to brand guidelines, local health codes, sanitation protocols, and liquor liability regulations.

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

• Experience : 3 to 5+ years of progressive catering sales or event operations experience in a full-service hotel environment, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.

• Technical Skills : Proficiency in hotel property management and catering software (e.g., Delphi FDC, OPERA, Salesforce) alongside Microsoft Office.

• Soft Skills : Superior client negotiation, financial acumen, cross-departmental leadership, and composure under pressure.

• Working Conditions : Flexible schedule required, including regular evening, weekend, and holiday hours based on the hotel's event calendar.
