The company is publicly traded on NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen (OMX: ALKB) with global headquarters in Horsholm, Denmark and US Offices around the country.We are currently seeking a Full-Time Lab Assistant to join our team in Port Washington, NY.The ideal Lab Assistant candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can manage multitask and be able to have keen attention to detail.This role is for a second shift of 10:00am to 6:30pm. However, during the training period, this candidate will come in the morning shift starting at 6:30am.Primary Responsibilities:Cleaning/Sterilization of flasks, graduates, syringes, stoppers/droppers, filling set-ups, in addition to filtering rubber detergent used in cleaning of stoppers, routine replacement of tubing, and setting up/repair of new/existing glassware as per related manufacturing SOPs.Prep work for sterilization (tape, wrapping, indicators, sealing stopper/dropper bags, maintenance of log books)Loading Dry Heat Oven with Vials (check work/fill-in log book)Loading Vacuum Oven (stoppers/droppers/fill-in log book)Change Oven ChartsPerform SAP related duties COR6N, Goods Movement transactions (e.g. on Seals, Stoppers, Droppers and Vials)Backup Duties include Media Prep, Vial Wash and Traying duties. Cross-trained on vial wash unit to wash vials for fill, prepare vial pans by rinsing with W.F.I., label all Vial Pans with pertinent product information, and complete relevant documentation (vial wash log, dry heat oven log, etc.) as per relevant SOPsCross-trained on Media Prep for sterility testing of products as per related manufacturing SOP's including activities such as; Complete relevant batch paperwork, Daily Use of Autoclave to sterilize media for QC Biology Use, Labelling of Sterilized Media Tubes with pertinent product informationWash, store and maintain tubes in media prep roomCross-trained to tray Filled Stock Vials with product identity tags into plastic grey trays after sterile filling operations and store in quarantine cooler.Individual must be able to accomplish each assignment listed above.Knowledge of all related manufacturing SOP's is requiredRequired to attend periodic cGMP/SOP training sessions as well as company meetings.Other duties may be assignedSkills and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent.Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasksMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsAble to work around hazardous chemicals, allergenic antigens and medically qualified to use a respirator and hearing protection without restrictionSome math aptitude is requiredThe ability to read/write English is necessary.Why ALK?At ALK, we believe in providing an environment and culture in which our people can thrive, develop, and advance.
