Registered Nurse - Mother-Baby/Well Baby Nursery
Location: Walnut Creek, CA
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule / Shift: 12-hour night shifts, with a nurse-patient ratio of 1:3.
Job Description: The Registered Nurse in the Mother-Baby/Well Baby Nursery will provide comprehensive care to postpartum mothers and their newborns. Responsibilities include monitoring the health and well-being of both mothers and infants, assisting with breastfeeding, and providing education to new parents.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess maternal and neonatal health status
- Provide patient and family education regarding newborn care and breastfeeding
- Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (Epic)
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience, with 3 years of experience in mother-baby or neonatal nursing preferred
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required
- Preferred certifications: Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Experience with the Epic documentation system is a plus
