Profession: Client Allied Level 2 CT Tech Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x10.0 Hours per Shift: Monday to Thursday, 9:30 PM to 8 AM EST Experience: Minimum of 2 years Level 1 Trauma Center Experience License: CT Tech License (New York) Certifications: BLS from American Heart Association Must-Have: Effective written and verbal communication skills Patient and compassionate disposition Ability to work as a team player Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan. Strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility. Utilize safe patient handling techniques. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components. Identify images and assure images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology is required. Maintain certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Injection certification preferred, must be willing to complete during orientation process. Knowledge of equipment from major manufacturers is preferred.
