Job Summary:
The registered nurse position in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is based in Oakland, California. This role involves providing specialized patient care for adolescents, infants, and adults recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The position requires a California licensed registered nurse (RN) and candidates must bring their license on the first day. The nurse will work in a dynamic environment supporting multiple patient diagnoses with a focus on recovery and post-operative care.

Job Details:

• Shift: 10-Hour Days with a variable start time.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, BSN degree, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, experience with Epic and Cerner electronic medical record systems, promotional teaching hospital experience, trauma level 1 experience preferred, and experience floating across ICU, PACU, CVICU, ED, and pediatrics.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma level 1 experience, teaching hospital experience, EMR experience with Epic, Cerner, and Meditech.
• Additional Information: The nurse will be supporting a facility with a daily census of approximately 25 patients across 12 rooms, handling diverse patient diagnoses including post-surgical recovery, pediatrics, neuro issues, and respiratory conditions. The position involves working in a multidisciplinary environment with support from respiratory services, interpretation and social services, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Candidates must be willing to float and adhere to safety and procedural protocols.
