Job Summary As Assistant Director, you assist the Director of Environmental Services in directing and leading all aspects of the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department, coordinate the tasks of Operations Managers, and serve as liaison between administration and hospital departments to deliver the highest possible level of service. Key Responsibilities Establishes and reviews standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff in accordance with facility policies. Plans work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate housekeeping services are rendered to all areas. Interviews, selects, hires, evaluates, and recommends termination of housekeeping personnel according to facility standards. Orientates, trains, develops, and supervises all staff. Performs regular facility inspections and evaluations; recommends action items and assists with relocations within the facility. Conducts regular staff meetings and coordinates with other departments. Schedules major project work, ensuring adequate staff and supplies. Conducts regular inventory of housekeeping supplies. Assists Department Director with budgets. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work history required. Solid understanding of housekeeping procedures. Demonstrated progressive growth in health‑care housekeeping facility maintenance. Good work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, empathy, and decision‑making skills. Ability to apply a participative approach to managing staff, function under stress, coordinate and prioritize tasks, and develop budgets. Excellent stress‑management, administrative, and organizational skills.
