Step into an impactful role as a Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students in a vibrant school setting near Hyattsville, MD. This is a direct hire, full-time contract position working primarily with high school-aged students. Leverage your COTA expertise to help young learners achieve their highest potential in a collaborative and resource-rich environment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active COTA certification and licensure
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric OT settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with COTA practices in educational and healthcare environments
- Comfort working with mostly high school student populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with students, staff, and families
- Organizational strengths to manage a diverse caseload and documentation requirements
What You’ll Do:
- Implement occupational therapy plans as directed by an OT, tailored to individual student needs
- Provide hands-on therapy to support students’ physical, emotional, and social development within the school setting
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to integrate therapy goals with educational objectives
- Track student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, sharing professional insights and recommendations
- Model positive, supportive behavior that helps foster an inclusive school culture
