Job Details Job Title: Translator Location: 150 New Providence Rd, Mountainside, NJ 07092 Department: Early Intervention Grant Req #: 0000237802 Status: Hourly (Per Diem) Shift: Day Pay Range: $34.94 per hour Job Overview Aid communication and comprehension by converting spoken word from English to Spanish. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Maintains valid NJ driver's license Preferred: Bilingual - Haitian Creole Scheduling Requirements Day shift As needed, including weekends Per Diem Essential Functions Speak, read and write fluently in Spanish, English and one or more other languages. Relays the style and tone of the original language. Renders spoken messages accurately, quickly and clearly. Maintains sensitivity to parent's personal circumstances, confidentiality, and adheres to code of conduct. Provides consecutive interpretation at initial evaluations, assessments, direct service sessions, and IFSP development as required. Interprets all information articulated between child/family and practitioner during sessions. Works with assigned practitioner, schedules and confirms services, interprets session notes and confirms future sessions. Maintains professional boundaries between parties and adheres to interpretation referencing early intervention services. Attends trainings as required. Travels in personal vehicle to families' natural environments; maintains valid NJ driver's license and required insurance. Accurately records time and frequency of services, obtains required signatures for billing, and submits billing per policy. Submits required paperwork timely and accurately per departmental volume/productivity requirements. Maintains ongoing communication with office via email, text, telephone and responds quickly to information requests.
