- Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using a blend of standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans focusing on both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions addressing various aspects of communication, including fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage in teamwork with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to design integrated care approaches.
- Provide education for patients and families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally conduct speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatients, guaranteeing seamless care throughout the treatment trajectory.
- Uphold meticulous documentation practices in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Commit to ongoing education and peer collaboration to remain at the forefront of the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for diverse age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong analytical abilities and clinical judgment.
- Familiarity with using electronic medical records and adherence to documentation standards.
