Job Summary The main function of a Desktop Technician is to be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Windows desktops. These roles will support high-volume walk-up traffic in the innovations hub at Owings Mills. Key Responsibilities Assist in the software and hardware life cycle management processes including research, packaging, quality assurance, and deployment preparation Set up new users, including desktop configuration, email accounts, LDAP accounts, VPN accounts Support employees, both local and remote, with desktop issues, account issues, and access to various internal services Troubleshoot software issues on employees' desktops/laptops Some off-hours support may apply Required Skills Knowledge of Windows OS Experience with desktop installation and configuration Experience troubleshooting desktop issues as well as mobile devices Strong customer service and customer-facing skills Troubleshooting of the Office 365 suite, including Excel Macros Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high-volume walk-up traffic in person Preferred Skills Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments preferred; experience in an innovation hub or lab environment with direct customer interaction is equally preferred Education Requirements Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required Required Experience 5–7 years of experience required (candidates with strong troubleshooting skills and fewer years of experience will also be considered) Work Environment / Physical Requirements Fully in-person, customer-facing role for the entire workday at the innovation hub Onsite interview required; interview will consist primarily of software-focused questions Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401k Retirement Fund About the Client This client is a leading financial services and asset management organization operating across the Maryland region, with facilities in Owings Mills and Baltimore.
