Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher through a rewarding full-time contract position near Peoria, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated professionals who thrive in an inclusive, supportive school environment and are passionate about tailoring educational approaches to meet every learner's needs.
There are three unique elementary-level openings available:
- Self-Contained Behavior Program: Candidates with experience in behavior intervention and current CPI certification are preferred.
- Self-Contained Kindergarten Autism Program: Support young learners in the moderate intellectual range, fostering growth and development in a structured, nurturing classroom.
- Resource Position (0.5 FTE): Currently supporting a caseload of 11 students, ideal for those who value focused, individualized instruction.
What you’ll need to succeed in this role:
- Valid SPED Educator Certification and current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (please include both with your application).
- A current resume detailing relevant experience.
- CPI certification is highly desirable for the behavior program opening.
- Previous experience in self-contained or specialized education environments.
- Compassion, flexibility, and commitment to student success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
- Utilizing evidence-based strategies to create a positive, structured classroom atmosphere.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed.
- Maintaining thorough and timely documentation.
