Diesel Maintenance Technician (B) Job Overview Vehicle Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment. The technician performs job duties independently with limited supervision and provides mentoring and assistance to Vehicle Technician C’s as needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic welding and cutting torch operation skills Basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skills Understanding of tire inflation systems Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount tires Basic diagnostic tool skills Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions for tools, equipment, machinery, and materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools operate material handling equipment Must be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors Must be able to work a flexible schedule and vary start and finish times, possibly including weekends and holidays Basic computer skills Each technician needs to provide their own tools Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED Knowledge acquired through 3–5 years of relevant work experience D.O.T.
