Registered Nurse

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Emergency Department. The role requires direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Patient care activities must be coordinated with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and care. The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, maintaining accountability for the effectiveness of care provided. Professional conduct must align with the mission, values, and service standards. Skills in human relations and communication are required. Clinical expertise in the area of responsibility must be demonstrated. Physical demands of the role include standing and walking for most of the shift. The nurse may lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, handling up to 50 lbs. Work will typically be conducted in a clean, air-conditioned environment. The capacity to kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally is required. The facility has a total of 68 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio that averages 4:1 under routine circumstances, with variations during surges. The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility and a determined, decisive approach to patient care.
