Plant Manager Requirements & Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in custom fabrication, rebar, structural steel, or a similar, project-driven operation
Strong background in production planning, employee development, and operational improvement
Demonstrated ability to adapt, communicate, and manage changing priorities
Commitment to safety and OSHA compliance

Plant Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Experience in rebar or structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, or heavy/industrial construction
Ability to lead by example and build trust on the production floor with a team that has been there through it all (legacy team members)
Ability to learn from direct reports to gain "why" knowledge.
Data-driven problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset

Plant Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of the fabrication operation, including safety, quality, productivity, and scheduling of multiple jobs simueltaneously
Support, coach, and develop production employees while building future supervisors and leaders
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in process, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization
Ensure inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and on-time shipping coordination
Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver project-based solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
Monitor, measure, and report success through KPIs and clearly defined operational goals
