Parts Specialist I

Overview The Parts Specialist I provides counter service to city employees who need parts/equipment to perform their jobs. The Parts Specialist I will assist with inventory control, data entry in inventory systems, customer service, and may occasionally drive a MANCON vehicle to pick up parts. This is an hourly position. Responsibilities General responsibilities: Meet and greet our valued customers General responsibilities: Review, familiarize with and adhere to MANCON’s SOPs and Safety Manual General responsibilities: Review supplied requisition forms to ensure they are properly completed (Signatures, timestamps, part numbers, descriptions and quantities) General responsibilities: Answer questions regarding availability of parts General responsibilities: Ask appropriate questions to ensure correct parts are researched and provided General responsibilities: Inform customers when requested parts are available Parts Pick up: Drive vehicle to designated locations to purchase/pick up parts Parts Pick up: Provide company documentation to vendors as required (tax exempt form, credit references) Parts Pick up: Review all invoices at vendor location to ensure accuracy on pricing and quantities Parts Pick up: Return products to MANCON location in a timely fashion Data Entry Requirements: Assist in generating invoices for customer requisitions in the inventory system Data Entry Requirements: Assist in entry of vendor receiving documents in the inventory system Inventory Management Requirements: Assist in performing weekly inventory cycle counts Inventory Management Requirements: Assist in performing counts during Wall to Wall inventories at site Other Requirements: Follow established guidelines for vehicle and equipment maintenance Other Requirements: Attention to detail Other Requirements: Provide 24 hour support at the city location during emergencies Other Requirements: Travel to locations to pick up parts Other Requirements: Assist with inventory research projects as requested Other Requirements: Adhere to required procedures Other Requirements: Operate a forklift Other Requirements: Participate in the SCM continuing training program Other Requirements: Assist with other duties as assigned Qualifications 1 year computer experience 24-hour availability Valid Driver’s License with two years driving experience 1 year experience with auto or heavy duty truck parts Obtain and maintain a forklift license Physical Requirements Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Essential Requirements Driving Lifting Reaching Sitting Standing Stooping Walking Physical Requirements Other Work is mostly performed in an office setting, however some requirements occur at storerooms and warehouses in the field which may have uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions.
