Quality Engineer

Our Vonore, Tennessee location is seeking a driven Quality Engineer ready to ensure product excellence, strengthen customer satisfaction, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. In this role, you will act as the voice of the customer, support root-cause analysis, drive corrective actions, and collaborate closely with production, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. You'll support new launches, conduct audits, analyze quality data, and help maintain strong quality, health, safety, and environmental systems.Ensure part quality by addressing end user, customer, internal, or supplier concernsEssential Duties and Accountabilities:Support activities maintaining the quality of the products within the production processAct as the voice of the customer to JTEKT departmentsAnalyze for root cause and verify corrective action effectiveness for internal and external nonconformancesDevelop and conduct audits on systems or productsSupport launch activities for new or revised productsContribute to quality, health, safety, and environmental maintenanceSupport other JTEKT facilities and travel as requiredWork daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.Perform other duties as assignedThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesJob Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and all levels of the JTEKT organizationSelf-motivated and able to work without close supervisionStrong statistical and analytical skillsExperience in tight tolerance machining and assembly manufacturingExperience in using simple gages (micrometers, calipers, etc.)Ability to travel, as required, to customers, suppliers, and to provide quality support to all JTEKT facilitiesBasic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systemsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or other related fields of study5+ years of quality and/or engineering related experience in a manufacturing environmentASQ and/or Six Sigma Certification is preferred*The above may be waived by the department Manager and the Human Resources Manager if the candidate is otherwise qualified.Work Environment/Physical Demand:Sit with intermittent walkingManual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, and writingCommunicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person, by phone, or through VOIPVisually read reports, computer screen, etc.Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked/day, 5 days/week Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
