Director of Accounting

Director, Property & Development Accounting – Mixed-Use Overview A real estate investment and development firm with an expanding mixed-use portfolio is seeking a Director of Property & Development Accounting to own the full accounting function across stabilized assets and active development projects. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership, investors, and lenders — well-suited for a technically strong CPA who wants meaningful ownership and the opportunity to help build and scale an accounting function as the platform grows. Responsibilities Own financial reporting across a mixed-use portfolio and active development pipeline, including complex transaction accounting and non-routine items under U.S. GAAP. Oversee GL activity, treasury operations, cash flow monitoring, and capital coordination with lenders and investors, including approval of funding requests and reserves. Ensure compliance with loan, JV, and management agreements; maintain and enforce internal controls across all entities. Lead the audit process, including review of audited financial statements, tax projections, and investor and lender reporting packages. Oversee development and management fee calculations, budget-to-actual analysis, and reconciliation of financial models with operating budgets. Build and mentor the accounting team; drive process improvements and systems enhancements in line with the platform’s growth. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA required . 6+ years of accounting experience with meaningful exposure to commercial real estate and/or development; public accounting background strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex, multi-entity accounting environments. Strong communicator who can translate financial complexity for senior leadership, investors, and lenders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
