Certified Medical Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide critical direct clinical and administrative support under the guidance of licensed providers and site leadership. You will help drive a seamless patient experience by ensuring efficient clinical workflows, maintaining accurate health records, and upholding the highest standards of safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support & Patient Care

• Patient Flow: Prepare exam rooms, manage patient intake, and support efficient daily clinic flow.
• Vitals & History: Accurately obtain, measure, and document vital signs and patient health history in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Lab Work: Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and waived testing following strict clinical protocols and quality control procedures.
• Results & Tracking: Process lab orders, track results, and promptly report abnormalities to providers.
• Education & Screenings: Distribute patient education materials and administer standard screenings (e.g., depression, PrEP-related, tobacco use).
• Safety: Strictly adhere to infection control standards, OSHA guidelines, and universal precautions.

Patient Experience & Communication

• Deliver courteous, culturally respectful, and professional interactions to all patients.
• Facilitate clear communication between patients, clinical providers, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Conduct appointment reminders, no-show outreach, and assist with care coordination and referrals.

Documentation, Compliance & Administration

• Maintain meticulous electronic health records (EHR) while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
• Support front-desk workflows as needed, including verifying patient demographics, insurance, and PCP information.
• Assist with scheduling, patient portal enrollment, medical record management, and chart preparation.

Operations & Teamwork

• Monitor inventory, restock exam rooms, and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, internal training, and community outreach initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program required.
• Life Support: Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred; ambulatory care experience is a strong plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHR systems, data entry, and handling electronic protected health information (ePHI) securely.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational capabilities, exceptional interpersonal communication, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
• Language: Fluency in English required; Spanish bilingual proficiency is a strong plus.
